Missing Woman Found Naked On Rural Road, Tells How She Survived Three Weeks in the Woods

A 25-year-old woman from Alabama, who was thought to be dead, was found on a rural road after surviving three weeks in the woods.

Lisa Theris was missing for 28 days and was found naked, sickly and filthy when she was spied out by Judy Garner who was driving down a remote Highway outside of Union Springs, Alabama.

Judy at first thought she had seen a deer until she observed more closely to find it was human. Once she spotted the naked woman, she called the police.

In her report, she stated, ‘I just passed a road and there's a lady that, she came out of the woods naked and she's been sick.’

When officers came to the spot and found Lisa, they believed she had lost up to 40 pounds. They also noticed she had deep cuts, bug bites, poisonous stings, and sunburn.

Lisa, a former waitress and radiology student, had said she survived by munching berries, mushrooms and also drinking puddles of water. According to her, ‘If it rained I'd have to like squeeze the water out of my hair and drink it.’

Speaking further on her 28 days survival, she explained that it was all about finding the road or finding a person. She said she couldn't hear the sound of cars the whole time.

Lisa revealed as well that she got a hold of a large walking stick in the woods that assisted her in getting to the rural road.

How the 25-year-old ended up in such a lonely and isolated place in the first place is still a mystery. She is said to have been with two men whom she had recently met before she went missing.

When officials asked her if she thought she was drugged, her response was, ‘It would make sense; but I'm not sure.’

With regards to the same question, her dad, William Theris, said, ‘I think I heard that may be so.’
