Chinese School Girl, 12, Abandons Newborn Baby in A Bush, Authorities Suspect She Had Been Raped

An underage schoolgirl recently gave birth to a baby girl and dumped her thereafter in bushes in the city of Yibin in China.

Authorities in China have revealed that 12-year-old Xiao Min is one of the children who were “left behind” and also confirmed that the young mom is a primary school pupil.

By the expression “left behind” they mean kids whose parents had migrated from the countryside to look for jobs in the cities.

The young girl’s parents had taken her 13-year-old brother along with them but left her behind to live with the grandparents.

Xiao Min's school teacher and her grandparents were reportedly unaware that she was pregnant.

The abandoned newborn was found on the night of Friday August 11, in the bushes by a roadside under a highway bridge, and was rushed to a hospital immediately after.

Medical experts said the baby was prematurely given birth to and needed to be given intravenous fluid.  Therefore, she was placed in an incubator for warmth.

Further medical analysis of the baby girl reported a healthy condition after she showed no disturbing signs of health issues.

Kind hearted individuals who learned about the news have donated money and other basic necessities for the upkeep of the newborn.

Hopefully, she will be sent to a children's home to be taken care of when her health condition would have stabilized.

According to reports, the Nanxi police caught up with the baby's mother two days after the newborn was found, on August 13.

Presently, police are investigating how the 12-year-old could have become pregnant in the first place. There is a suspicion of the possibility of rape.

The news has sparked off concerns over several million other children just like the underage mom.

Authorities in Chinese have reported that over nine million children have been “left behind” by their parents. These “left behind” kids are usually left in the care of their grandparents and mostly get to see their parents once a year.
