After Over 32 Years Of Absence, Morocco Is Back To African Union

The North African country, Morocco has been readmitted into the African Union on Monday more than three decades after it left when the continental body recognised the independence of the disputed territory of Western Sahara.

Morocco’s readmission was approved during the 28th AU Summit in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa after it formally announced its wish to rejoin six months ago.

Morocco had asked the African Union (AU) to readmit it, as it seeks support for its plan to offer autonomy to the disputed territory of Western Sahara while keeping it under Moroccan sovereignty.

AFP quoted Senegalese President Macky Sall as saying that 39 heads of state out of 54 voted for the return of Morocco.

Morocco garnered the votes despite strong opposition by countries including South Africa who support the Polisario Front’s call for a referendum on self-rule which Morocco is against

“Even if the question of Western Sahara remains a question being raised, one can continue to find solutions as a family. Admission has been made and the most important thing today is that Morocco is an integral member of the African Union,” Sall said.

Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, who had been campaigning since last year to join the bloc, told African leaders at the AU summit in Addis Ababa: “Africa is my home, and I am coming back home.”

Golden Boy, Iwobi, Scores As Arsenal Suffer Shock Defeat

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was on target for Arsenal on Tuesday night but his effort was unable to avert a shock defeat for the Gunners at the Emirates stadium against Watford FC.

Quick-fire goals from Yohannes Kaboul and Troy Denney saw Watford take a surprising 2-0 half time lead, and while Iwobi pulled one back for Arsenal in the second half, it could not save the day for the stuttering Gunners.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Chelsea shared the spoils at Anfield as their game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham Hotspur failed to benefit from dropped points by Chelsea as they also played out a barren draw against relegation threatened Sunderland.

Chelsea still have a nine point advantage at the top having amassed 56 points from 23 games.

It was however a good night for Swansea City who gave their survival chase a big boost with a 2-1 win over Southampton.

Crystal Palace also got a win over AFC Bournemouth as battle for survival in the EPL enters a new gear.

March With Tuface: Fayose To Join Others In Nationwide Protest

Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, on Monday said he will be partaking in the upcoming nationwide protest led by Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia.

In a post on his Twitter handle shortly after 10:00 p.m., Mr. Fayose said the organisers have his full backing to launch the protest which they said will be “massive”.

“To organisers of Feb. 5 “Enough is Enough” National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest,” the governor said.

Mr. Fayose is the latest public figure to queue behind the organisers of the demonstration, which is expected to hold simultaneously in different cities across the country.

Mr. Idibia, while announcing the protest last week, said the Buhari administration’s rudderlessness has left too many Nigerians languishing in poverty with little to be hopeful for about the future.

The police said they have been duly informed about the protest and will provide security for all participants, although the government called for patience and understanding amongst Nigerians.

Woman Cries Out: ''I want sex, not bible verses''

A Zimbabwean pastor’s wife, who has gone seven years without sex, couldn’t withhold her emotions when she appeared before a court and accused her husband Petros Tshuma, a pastor with Zion Grace International, of starving her since 2010.

Instead, she says he sleeps with other women from his congregation.

“Your worship, I’m sexually abused by this man as he last had sex with me in 2010. If I ask him about the issue he would promise to make up for it but when it’s time for sex he simulates sickness then claims to be feeling pain in his stomach,” she said.

Mary Ngwenya added that her husband would also claim his testicles were swollen but had other
partners to sleep with as she literally pleaded for sex in front of the magistrate.

“What I know is that he enjoys sex with three ladies from our church. I have WhasApp text messages to prove that.

I’m a human being. I don’t survive on Bible verses and I need my husband to sleep with me. Now I lead a pretentious life telling the women I lead that I’m enjoying my marriage while I’m sex starved,” she said in between sobs.

However, Tshuma admitted the blame.

“I love my wife but I have a problem, when I engage in sex my stomach starts to twinge as a result I feel an intense pain and due to that I had to stop. It’s not true that I’m in love with other women. My wife saw text messages from the women who wanted counselling on their marriages, due to that she quickly concluded that I’m in love with them,” he said.

The judge Masuku ordered Tshuma to have sex with his wife and not to emotionally abuse her.

Your Girl Next Door, Gabrielle Union Ventures into Beauty Business… floats 'Flawless'

Star of BET series Being Mary Jane, Gabrielle Union, is expanding her horizons. Following an acting career which has lasted for more than two decades, the actress is now making her first steps as a beauty entrepreneur. Flawless by Gabrielle Union, a haircare line specifically targeted at women with textured hair, is set to launch in March.

Union is no stranger to the world of beauty brands. In fact, the 44-year-old Nebraska native who’s married to Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwayne Wade, fronted the advertisements of cosmetics company Neutrogena for a period of 10 years.

The key difference between her previous ambassadorship gig and current endeavor, is ownership. In order to get the project off the ground, the actress joined forces with Vince Davis. Davis, who serves as a CEO of the start-up, currently also acts as the CEO of haircare company Macadamia Beauty LLC.

Union’s haircare line - which shall be available for purchase on the company website Flawlesshair.com starting March 1st - will initially be centered around 10 different products. Prices range from $19 to $29. The two-figure price tags will get customers anything from shampoos to conditioners, blow dry cream, or a hair masque. Other products include ‘edge control’ gel, as well as an oil treatment. Namely the company’s marula oil, is sourced by indigenous women in South Africa in addition to giving health benefits.

In an interview with WWD, Flawless’ founder recalls the personal struggle she had to overcome in order to embrace her hair’s natural texture. “I went through a phase where I would leave my relaxer on so long, thinking the longer I leave this relaxer on, the straighter it’s going to be. Cut to lesions, like open wounds in my scalp, trying to chase something that was unrealistic, and eventually probably in my mid- to late-20s I decided to give up my relaxer, and I went natural.”

Flawless by Gabrielle Union will be available at Ulta Beauty stores nationwide, starting April 16.
