A 26-year-old
pint-sized pervert, Bryan Anthony Bowen of Welshpool who was arrested on the
count of grooming teen girls on social media and also sending sexually explicit
messages to them, has been spared jail term because of his small stature.
In
prosecution, Judge Rhys Rowland described Bowen as a man who is ‘small in stature
and emotionally inadequate’. He described the suspect’s irrational liking for
teens as a way of escape from reality, so he needed to ‘live out some sort of
fantasy’.
Because the
small man would have a ‘very hard time’ in prison, Bowen was sentenced to
48-week prison time suspended for 2 years. A rehabilitation order was handed
him in which he is to observe curfew between 9 pm and 7 am.
Reportedly,
Bryan Anthony Bowen of Welshpool, Powys, contacted underage children via
Facebook between July and October 2015 and asked them for sex and also to send
him explicit private photos. The two girls were aged 13 and 15.
After he
sent the 15-year-old girl an inappropriate message, she wanted to block him.
But before long, Bowen sent her an even more embarrassing message on the day of
her 16th birthday asking for sexual favors as a present. The girl contacted
police who, upon investigation, found another unsuitable message the accused
sent to a teen girl aged 13.
Following
his arrest, the suspect claimed that he thought the girls were above 16. He
eventually admitted to two charges of incitement which happened within the said
period. One other charge on harassment was further dropped against Bowen.
Earlier, the
defense lawyer had pleaded with the prosecuting judge not to jail his client on
the grounds that he has learning difficulties. Bowen has been placed on 10
years Sex Offenders’ Register in Britain.
