And Kim Kardashian wanted them to get married
Kris Jenner
has reportedly split from her toyboy lover Corey Gamble, but just last month
she gushed about him on US TV and admitted she wouldn’t rule out marriage.
Their shock
separation will be a surprise for fans as Keeping Up With The Kardashians star
Kris, 61, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in mid-February and said things
were going great with Corey, 35.
Kris had
also told a radio show he was a "huge part" of her life, while
daughter Kim Kardashian was apparently rooting for them to wed.
So it's
inevitable fans are now going to be asking what went wrong if the report is
true.
“[We’ve been
together] a couple of years and it’s really great and he gets on really good
with the kids and it’s nice,” Kris told Ellen DeGeneres.
After
giggling about their age difference and joking “age is just a number”, the
matriarch added that marriage was not on the cards but who knew what would
happen in the future.
Referencing
her failed marriages to Robert Kardashian and Caitlyn – then Bruce – Jenner,
she said: “You know, I’ve done that twice and it didn’t work out so well so I
don’t know.”
She then
reiterated that she was happy with Corey and there was no need to wed when
things were so good, saying: “I’m going to take a page out of Goldie and Kurt’s
book [Hawn and Russell], as long as things are going so well, why ruffle it?”
There had
been rumours towards the end of last year that Kris and Corey had secretly tied
the knot, and Radar Online even suggested the pair had drawn up a pre-nup.
"They’ve
had their ups and downs in the past, but Corey loves the life Kris has given
him and she feels protected and loved by this guy," said a source,
alleging a spring wedding was being secretly planned.
But Kris
later confirmed on Aussie radio show Kyle and Jackie O that wasn't true.
"I love
Corey, I don’t think I’m ready to get married again right now but he’s such a
huge part of my life," she said, adding the ring she had been spotted
wearing was a gift from Corey but not an engagement ring.
Meanwhile,
back in 2015, Kris told Closer magazine daughter Kim predicted wedding bells.
"Kim's
desperate for Corey and I to get married and says she'd love a huge
wedding," Kris said.
"She
wants North to be a bridesmaid, but I've told her she's better off putting the
pressure on her siblings to get married, not me!"
Neither Kris
nor Corey have addressed the split claims which surfaced overnight in the USA.
“Kris told
Corey that she needed some space so that she could focus on her family and the
show right now,” a source told Radar .
“She said
that she was getting side-tracked with this relationship and that she needed to
put her family before her own needs and wants.”
