Two women
who were dressed as nuns and were carrying handguns have been caught on camera
as they attempted to rob a bank.
The Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is on a search for two women who authority say
disguised as nuns and went into a bank in Pennsylvania on Monday in a failed
attempt to rob in there.
A
surveillance image published by a media house displayed the women dressing in
nun’s attire as they made attempts to rob Citizens Bank close to Tannersville.
According to
police, the two suspects entered the bank and one of them flashed a pistol as
she leaned over demanding money from one of the cashiers. Luckily another
teller who was quite vigilant activated an alarm, which supposedly scared off
the would-be thieves.
Officers
believe the spontaneous reaction of the second banker must have frightened the
would-be robbers prompting them to take off. Both women hurriedly left the bank
without taking money or any other thing.
According to
reports, the two women wore habits and veils with one of them having a pair of
oversized sunglasses, as both left empty-handed after the alarm had been
activated.
What was not
quite clear is whether the attempted thieves fled the bank premises on foot or
in a car.
So far, the
FBI which is investigating the break-in that happened at Citizens Bank close to
Tannersville, Pennsylvania, has posted the bank surveillance photos on Twitter.
It is,
however, expected that someone might recognize them or at least have a piece of
information that might help in the investigation.
